Ian
Norris had fun trying to put the 330BHP down his Cosworth powered car
generated, however he was completely outdone by John Kidd who had a very
eventful day and seems determined to prise the "Black Award"
for incompetence away from Nick Cook. How about this for a roll of
        honour in one day:

        1. Drives off with the marker cone
        immediately after his sound test.

        2. Drops a rubber grommet in to his
Dry Sump necessitating its removal, storage of the oil in plastic cups
and ruins his coat in the process. Not to be beaten he is back on the
track in an hour and smiling again.

        3. Has a huge spin in his car
plastering his passenger and (ex) friend Kevin in a shower of mud, which
also finds its way through the small gap at the bottom of their visors
        and all over their faces.

Back in the paddock we manage to hide
our concern behind rolls of laughter and many quips for the rest of the
        day.

        4. Once cleaned up John has
professional instruction and takes to the track again only for the
throttle to stick fully open coming down the ‑ain straight. He has
to activate his battery cut off to kill the engine otherwise his
Crossfiow would still be going now.

All in all quite a day and a strong
contender for the "Black Award" at the end of the year.
